Is Riggi Residential Inc. licensed and insured?
Riggi Residential Inc. is a Class-A Contractor that is fully insured. The mission of the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation is to protect the health, safety and welfare of Virginians, while promoting a competent workforce, fair housing opportunities, and a productive economy. If you are about to engage the services of a contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, you should be aware of the state’s program for the regulation of this occupation by licensing or certifying these businesses. The Board for Contractors was established in 1938 to regulate businesses that construct or improve facilities on property owned by others.
Any contractor who undertakes a project the total value of which is $120,000 or more is required to have a valid Class A license issued by the Board for Contractors. Any contractor who undertakes a project the total value of which is over $7,500 but less than $120,000 must have a valid Class B license. A licensed contractor has met standards established by the Board of Contractors to ensure that the licensee possesses the character, knowledge, and skills necessary to practice without harm to the public.
Any contractor who undertakes a project the total value of which is more than $1,000 but no more than $7,500 is required to have a valid Class C license. Class C licensure requires that the contractor submit information to the Board of Contractors concerning the location, nature, and operation of the business, as well as evidence of experience and information on the applicant’s credit history. Where is your office located and how long have you been in the area?
Our office is located at 2104 Morea Court, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. We have lived in Virginia Beach for over 20 years and we plan to remain here for the rest of our lives. A contractor who provides a physical address that’s in your community is far less likely to disappear on you than someone whose true locale is hidden behind a post office box. Back to top.
Do you put your estimates in writing?
Yes. We offer detailed estimates outlining the scope of our work for your review assuring that we deliver exactly what you expect. Back to top.
Riggi Residential Inc. is a new corporation, why should I use you?
Riggi Residential Inc. is a new corporation only in name; not in experience. Glenn has been building homes in Hampton Roads for many years, the primary difference now is that he is working directly for you and looking out for your best interest. Back to top.
Do you use subcontractors?
Yes. We carefully screen our subcontractors and vendors only using those that are licensed and insured and that we have a trusted relationship with. When we use subcontractors, their work is meticulously managed and evaluated by Riggi Residential to assure that it is of the highest quality and in synchronization with others working on your project. We make sure that we bring the right expertise to your project. Back to top.
Once we contract with Riggi Residential, will we be able to reach Glenn directly?
Yes. Glenn gives his personal cell phone number to every customer and the office always knows his schedule. If a contractor doesn’t give out his cell phone number, it isn’t because he’s conserving minutes—he doesn’t want to be reachable. Glenn wants to make sure that the lines of communication are open with every customer. Back to top.
Do you work with Real Estate Professionals?
Yes. Agents rest assured that your customers will be taken care of in a professional manner, that their needs will be met, and that the job will be done right the first time! From wood rot to home inspection repairs; we are a one-stop-shop. Back to top.
Do you have customer references?
Yes. Upon request we can provide you with references from customers that we served in this area. Back to top.
Do you have trade industry references?
Yes, many. According to Money magazine, a more reliable source of reference is other people in the trades (plumber, electrician, framer, etc.) They’ve done business with the contractor and they know how well he manages his jobs and customers, and if they’re willing to put their professional reputations on the line by vouching for him, they must like what they see. Back to top.
Do you give discounts for payments in cash?
No. Everything that Riggi Residential does is above board and in compliance with local, state, and federal laws along with building codes and applicable licensing bodies. We are in this business full time and are not just making some quick and easy side money. Even if you don’t care that a contractor or tradesman is shirking his tax liability by taking cash (or a check made out to cash), consider what other costs he may be cutting—like licensing fees, insurance premiums, skilled crew members, and basic warranties.
